Rev. Dr. Ltc. (ret) Alvin L. Barney is a Minister of the Word. He is pursuing a master’s in divinity. As a Minister, he has served as a presenter, vocalist, teacher, chaplain, pastor, committee chair, steward, and elder. Dr. Barney has been involved in evangelism in some capacity his entire life. He is a native of Baxley, GA, in the Appling County community. Further, it is said that “his singing voice is absolutely angelic, sent from God.”
Rev. Barney holds a Doctor of Healthcare Administration and a Master of Administration degree from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Mexico. His doctoral dissertation (The Association between Access to Care and COVID-19 outcomes in US counties) was published by ProQuest, LLC (March 2022).
After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army, Rev. Barney continued his healthcare career as a federal civilian and he is currently in his thirty-eighth consecutive year of healthcare employment from Clark Air Base Philippines to Augusta, Georgia. He is married to the lovely LTC (ret) Judy Barney. Their children are Nathaniel, Brentlee, & Olivia Barney-Fishbein.
